Submissions Site

Please visit the iScientist submissions site when you are ready to submit an article. Registration of a user account is required for submitting and checking the status of current submissions.

Please submit all files in .doc, .docx, or .rtf format. Submissions are to be written as manuscripts using this template. You will also have the choice to submit supplementary files if needed.

As well, please ensure that the submitted document contains no identifying features, such as the names and affiliations of authors, as well as names in the acknowledgements. This is to ensure a blind peer-review process.

Further details are available in the Handbook. For questions regarding the authorship and submission process, please contact

Types of Submissions

The iScientist accepts the following types of submissions: Research Articles, Review Articles, History of Science Articles, and Letters to The iScientist.

Research articles report current, original research performed by the author(s). Review articles provide a summary of recent and current research in a particular field.

Letters to The iScientist are brief reviews about a current development in interdisciplinary science. These are less formal than Research or Review Articles, where authors are permitted to provide their opinion on current developments in science or science policy provided they are sufficiently explained based on fact. Please contact us if you are unsure of whether your submission would be appropriate as a Letter.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission’s compliance with the following items.

  1. The submission is formatted according to the proper template.
  2. The submission contains no identifying features such as author names and affiliations, as well as names in the acknowledgements. This is to ensure a blind peer-review process.

Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned to authors and asked for resubmission.
